FSS 2026 at a glance
Food Security Symposium 2026 (FSS 2026) is an international academic forum organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia. This symposium is designed as a comprehensive and inclusive platform that convenes researchers, academics, practitioners, and stakeholders from diverse disciplines and regions around the world. It aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exchange of innovative ideas to address one of the most urgent and complex global challenges : ensuring sustainable, equitable, and resilient food security for all.
As the global population continues to grow and environmental pressures intensify, food systems are increasingly challenged by climate change, land degradation, biodiversity loss, supply chain disruptions, and socio-economic inequalities. These multifaceted issues demand not only scientific and technological advancements but also integrated, cross-sectoral approaches that consider ecological sustainability, economic viability, and social inclusivity. In this context, FSS 2026 provides a vital space for participants to share research findings, practical experiences, and policy perspectives that can contribute to shaping future food systems.
The symposium also seeks to strengthen partnerships among academia, government institutions, private sectors, and local communities, recognizing that collaborative action is essential for generating impactful and scalable solutions. Through keynote speeches, plenary sessions, panel discussions, and parallel presentations, FSS 2026 encourages active engagement and knowledge co-creation among participants.
Carrying the theme:
“Advancing Food Security through Agro-Maritime Strategies and Innovations,”
FSS 2026 emphasizes the strategic integration of agricultural and maritime sectors as a holistic approach to food security. This theme reflects the growing recognition of the interconnectedness between land-based agriculture and marine resources, particularly for countries with significant coastal and archipelagic characteristics. By exploring agro-maritime strategies, the symposium highlights opportunities to optimize the utilization of terrestrial and aquatic resources, enhance food production systems, and improve resilience against environmental and economic uncertainties.
Food Security Symposium 2026 aspires to contribute to global efforts in achieving food security and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to zero hunger, responsible consumption and production, and climate action.
